AirAsia now offers book-now, pay-later flights with Zip
More flexible payment options on the world's best low-cost airline have landed.
Low-cost carrier AirAsia has at last joined the layby fold, announcing it has partnered with Zip to offer travellers the chance to "escape now and pay later".
This isn't the first time an airline has offered travellers the option to pay for their flights in little bites. The most notable partnership was back in 2017 when Jetstar teamed up with Afterpay. This was closely followed by Tigerair who teamed up with Zip to offer book-now, pay-later flights across its Australian network.
Now you can fly even further with AirAsia's network of over 140 Asian destinations at your fingertips. Departures are available from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and the Gold Coast.
If you haven't come across Zip before, it's an interest-free service that lets you pay for purchases now and repay them in instalments over a set period of time. Payments can be made on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis. Account limits and minimum payments apply, as does a monthly fee of $6 for every month you have an outstanding balance. Establishment fees may also apply. For full details, see the Zip website.
Flights are available to book using Zip Pay (for purchases under $1,000) or Zip Money (for purchases over $1,000) as of today, with the option to pay with Zip appearing at checkout.
"AirAsia is all about providing great value and choice to our guests. This includes providing them with access to what they want, when they want it," said AirAsia regional commercial head Matana Thienthong.
"Holidays can be an expensive exercise, even with our low fares. This is why we're offering our guests a flexible way to book that well-deserved break or spontaneous getaway."
