Melbourne has arguably been hit harder by COVID-19 than anywhere else in Australia. While some cities such as Perth have stayed relatively unscathed, Melbourne has spent an unprecedented 262 days in lockdown since March 2020 and sadly endured more than 2,000 deaths.
While most restrictions have now been lifted, we're certainly not out of the woods yet. With winter on the horizon and concerns about the BA.2 subvariant, it remains imperative to get tested as soon as symptoms arise.
Rapid antigen tests (RAT) remain one of the fastest and easiest ways to get tested for COVID-19 in Victoria. This is especially true now that stock levels have stabilised around the country.
To help you find the best price possible, we've gathered together some of the cheapest TGA-approved tests from Australia-based suppliers.

RAT rules in Victoria
Rapid antigen tests are an important tool in the fight against COVID in Victoria. If you return a positive RAT, you must register your test result via the VIC.GOV.AU website, and immediately isolate for 7 days.
If you're symptomatic, but return a negative RAT the government's advice is to take another rapid test in 24 hours, or have a PCR test. You should also monitor your symptoms closely. Otherwise, you're free to go about your day in a "COVID safe" way.
For more advice on when and how to use rapid antigen tests, head to the Victorian government's RAT information page.
