New DiDi feature lets you unmatch with your driver
Avoid another awkward rideshare trip with the new "block" feature now available Australia-wide.
Have you ever had a rideshare driver that you just didn't click with? Maybe they gabbed the whole ride, played music way too loud or even worse, were a romantic interest gone sour?
Well, in some of the best news we've heard all week, DiDi has unveiled its newest clever feature. It allows riders and drivers to "unmatch" each other. This way they won't be paired together for future journeys.
Unmatch gives DiDi users greater control and flexibility over their journey and has been introduced for all Aussie cities where DiDi is active. This currently includes Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Melbourne, Geelong, Newcastle and Perth.
There's no awkward confrontation either as it all happens anonymously once the ride is over and neither party will be notified if the feature is used.
DiDi Australia general manager, Lyn Ma said, "Consumers are used to having a level of customisation when utilising social applications, and we wanted to extend this to their rideshare experience. We are constantly listening to the DiDi community, creating features that we hope will add to a positive experience for DiDi users."
How likely is it that you would match up with a previous driver anyway? According to DiDi, on average, riders have been repeat-paired with a particular driver on more than 200,000 occasions a month. Sounds like this could actually come in handy.
