Some of the first meals include Japanese noodle broth with tofu, sesames and shiitake, and miso pesto farfalle with mushrooms and cannellini beans – yum!

It's official. Marley Spoon is now offering vegan meals as a permanent part of its growing menu. A minimum of three meal options per week will now cater to hungry Aussies who want vegan options for dinner – or lunch depending on when you prefer to cook!

This is one step forward for Marley Spoon but one giant leap for Australian vegans. This is the first time any meal delivery service has offered vegan options as a permanent part of the service. So if you're a vegan that's always wanted to try out a meal kit, now you can.

If you're not familiar with Marley Spoon, it's a considered and health conscious brand. It's not ripping random recipes off the Internet. Marley Spoon recipes are developed by a team of chefs, recipe writers and nutritionists. You only need to try one box to see just how healthy, fresh and scrumptious the recipes are. And if you don't want to test it out yourself, check out our review of the standard meals and the special low calorie meals.

According to Marley Spoon, the new menu has been in development for over a year. The brand has taken particular care in sourcing its ingredients from vegan suppliers like Suzy Spoon's Vegetarian Butcher, Sunny Brand Dumplings and Uncle Harry's Vegan Grill. And it was super important that the recipes were healthy.

"There are huge benefits to reducing your meat intake and eating a more plant-based diet, for both your health and the planet, but the word 'vegan' has a bit of a halo effect and some people think this automatically translates to healthy," said Brigit Ambrose, Marley Spoon's in-house nutritionist.

"It means a lot of vegan products are very high in salt or sugar, so when developing our menu we wanted to make sure everything would be suitable for weekly eating. We spent a long time finding the right suppliers whose products are both healthy and delicious. Everything vegan on the Marley Spoon menu is made from real ingredients and all the meals are nutritionally balanced."

So, when can you start ordering vegan food from Marley Spoon? Well, the first deliveries of Marley Spoon's vegan meals start the week of 28 October 2019, but customers can place their orders now.

Marley Spoon has a huge selection of meal options that can suit almost all dietary requirements. The new vegan additions mean the menu size is expanding from 20 to 23 unique recipes every week to ensure every customer has the perfect menu to match their tastebuds in addition to their dietary requirement. All the vegan meals from Marley Spoon contain no meat, eggs, dairy or other animal products, like honey.
