When Samsung launched the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 back in August, it offered 7 different colour variations, which was already quite a lot for a smartphone. Overnight, it added a few more colours… but that's something of an understatement.

At an event it dubbed "Galaxy Unpacked Part 2", Samsung announced a custom option for buyers of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 that adds a lot of colour choices into the mix. For the Z Flip 3, it's a total of 49 different colour combinations.

Your design choices are comprised of two different frames (black or silver) and five front and back panel colours (blue, yellow, pink, white or black) to make up those 49 colour combinations. Buyers of the "new" bespoke Galaxy Z Flip 3 will also get a custom wallpaper on their phone that matches their colour combination.

All of this colour customisation does come with a price, however. In every respect the Galaxy Z Flip 3 is the same phone we reviewed a few months ago, when we noted that it was pleasing to see Samsung dropping the price and affordability of foldables as a category.

If you want your own bespoke Galaxy Z Flip 3, pricing in Australia starts at $1,679, a $180 premium over the "regular" colour combinations. Samsung also notes that because they're specially built to order, delivery can take from 5 to 6 weeks.

Samsung also used its Galaxy Unpacked edition to update options for the Galaxy Watch 4 smartwatch, with new watch face customisations, gesture controls and an new fashion-styled Maison Kitsuné styled Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Buds2. Available in "limited" quantities, the Maison Kitsuné styled Galaxy Watch 4 costs $599 in Australia, while the Galaxy Buds 2 Maison Kitsuné will set you back $1,679.

It's been a big week for tech product launches, with Apple unveiling new MacBook Pro laptops and AirPods on Tuesday, while Google formally unveiled the new Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro phones on Wednesday.
