Prime Video boasts a huge movie collection, with new titles added on a regular basis. It varies from Prime Video originals to blockbusters landing on streaming after their cinema run to plenty of schlocky B-movies too.
Here are Finder's choices for the best titles on Prime Video to see if the platform is for you.
1. Saltburn
Struggling to find his place at Oxford University, student Oliver Quick (Barry Keoghan) finds himself drawn into the world of the charming and aristocratic Felix Catton (Jacob Elordi), who invites him to Saltburn, his eccentric family’s sprawling estate, for a summer never to be forgotten.
This is not your standard story of someone wanting to break through class barriers. Instead this psychological thriller is sharp and wickedly funny, with plenty of shocking moments and surprises that will keep you talking long after the film has finished.
2. Air (2023)
In the 1980s, a small shoe company called Nike pursued a collaboration with Michael Jordan before he had even set foot in the NBA.
You have Oscar winners and best friends Ben Affleck and Matt Damon teaming up once again, surrounded by an all-star cast. With all the talent on the court and coming off the bench, Air proves to be a champion.
3. Coming 2 America
The African monarch Akeem learns he has a long-lost son in the United States and must return to America to meet this unexpected heir and build a relationship with his son.
Coming 2 America is funny and comforting. It's perfect for fans of the original who want to see their favourite characters once again.
4. Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse
A former Navy SEAL turned CIA operative seeks revenge after his girlfriend is killed by a Baltimore drug lord.
Violent and action-packed, Without Remorse greatly benefits from an arresting lead performance from Michael B. Jordan. Stream it when you need an extra dose of adrenaline in your life.
5. I Care a Lot
A crooked legal guardian who drains the savings of her elderly wards meets her match when a woman she tries to swindle turns out to be more than she first appears.
Rosamund Pike gives an amazing performance in the lead role, but that's just the cherry on top. I Care a Lot is engaging, fast-paced, funny, clever and outrageous. You'll be glued to the screen from beginning to end.
6. The Mauritanian
Mohamedou Ould Slahi fights for freedom after being detained and imprisoned without charge by the US government for years.
The Mauritanian is heartbreaking and riveting. If that's not reason enough to tune in, Jodie Foster and Tahar Rahim are excellent.
7. Sound of Metal
A heavy-metal drummer's life is thrown into freefall when he begins to lose his hearing.
A stunning and powerful movie, Sound of Metal is a triumph. With a great performance from Riz Ahmed in the lead, it's the kind of film you'll be thinking about long after the end credits roll.
8. One Night in Miami...
A fictional account of the incredible night when icons Muhammad Ali, Malcolm X, Sam Cooke and Jim Brown gathered to discuss their roles in the Civil Rights Movement and the cultural upheaval of the 60s.
One Night in Miami... is a phenomenal movie with excellent performances from everyone involved. As the title suggests, the story is set over the course of a monumental night, but the themes the movie touches on are as relevant today as they were back in the 60s.
9. Sylvie's Love
When a young woman meets an aspiring saxophonist in her father's record shop in 1950s Harlem, their love ignites a sweeping romance that transcends changing times, geography and professional success.
Moving and compelling, Sylvie's Love will make you sigh and say something along the lines of "they don't make movies like this anymore". Thankfully, they do. Stream the movie when you're in the mood for an old-fashioned, memorable romance.
10. Borat Subsequent Moviefilm
This mockumentary follows the real-life adventures of the infamous and fictional Kazakh television journalist, just released from prison for bringing shame to his country. This time around, Borat risks life and limb when he returns to the US with his 15-year-old daughter.
Poignant and insightful, Borat Subsequent Moviefilm may be even smarter than the original. Don't worry though, it's just as hilarious.
11. The Aeronauts
In 1862, daredevil balloon pilot Amelia Wren teams up with pioneering meteorologist James Glaisher to advance human knowledge of the weather and fly higher than anyone in history. While breaking records and advancing scientific discovery, their voyage to the very edge of existence helps the unlikely pair find their place in the world they have left far below them.
The Aeronauts is a thrilling adventure from beginning to end, greatly benefiting from the amazing chemistry between the leads, who also starred together in the universally beloved The Theory of Everything. The special effects are also well done, creating some memorable visuals.
12. The Report
The story of Daniel Jones, lead investigator for the US Senate’s sweeping study into the CIA's Detention and Interrogation Program, which was found to be brutal, immoral and ineffective. With the truth at stake, Jones battled tirelessly to make public what many in power sought to keep hidden.
Here's the deal: The Report is mostly about people in suits staring at computers. Yet the movie manages to be clever and tense, keeping viewers glued to the screen, eager to find out what happens next. Plus, the cast is A+, with Adam Driver in particular shining in the lead role.
13. Brittany Runs A Marathon
Hilarious and outgoing, Brittany Forgler is everybody’s best friend – except her own. Her partying, underemployment and toxic relationships are catching up with her. Too broke for a gym and too proud to ask for help, Brit is at a loss, until her neighbour pushes her to run one sweaty block. Soon, she sets an almost unthinkable goal: the New York City Marathon.
Inspiring and often hilarious, the premise of Brittany Runs a Marathon can seem overdone – after all, it follows someone who is struggling to overcome the odds and achieve success. But the movie is like a breath of fresh air, especially because Brittany isn’t always a likeable character. Yet you won’t be able to help yourself and will cheer for her anyway.
14. Totally Killer
When the infamous "Sweet Sixteen Killer" returns 35 years after his first murder spree to claim another victim, 17-year-old Jamie (Kiernan Shipka) accidentally travels back in time to 1987, determined to stop the killer before he can start.
Totally Killer mixes genres with ease, from slasher, 80s nostalgia, time travel, comedy and more. You wouldn’t think a combination like that would work, but it does.
15. John Wick
Enraging a one-man army enough to bring him back out of retirement can be hazardous to your health.
John Wick ushered in a whole new wave of action films and is a thrill ride from start to finish. Also, it’s the best example of why you should never come between someone and their puppy.
16. Beautiful Boy (2018)
Based on the bestselling pair of memoirs from father and son David and Nic Sheff, Beautiful Boy chronicles the heartbreaking and inspiring experience of survival, relapse and recovery in a family coping with addiction over many years.
Timothée Chalamet and Steve Carell both deliver mesmerising performances in this inspiring tale of addiction, survival, recovery and relapse. Beautiful Boy is often devastating, but it’s a fascinating and important movie as it doesn't glamourise drug use. Instead, it perfectly captures addiction in its most destructive form.
17. Val (2021)
Documentary centring on the daily life of actor Val Kilmer featuring never-before-seen footage spanning 40 years.
Val paints an intimate portrait of a complex man. Whether you're a fan or just a movie buff in general, this insightful and revelatory documentary is a must-watch.
18. The Green Knight
An epic fantasy adventure based on the timeless Arthurian legend, The Green Knight tells the story of Sir Gawain (Dev Patel), King Arthur's reckless and headstrong nephew, who embarks on a daring quest to confront the eponymous Green Knight, a gigantic emerald-skinned stranger and tester of men.
A mind-bending affair, the movie grabs you from the very first scene, taking you on an adventure for the ages. The Green Knight isn't afraid to get weird – and is that much better for it.
19. Burning (2021)
This follows the deadly Australian bushfires of 2019–2020, known as Black Summer. Burning is an exploration of what happened as told from the perspective of victims of the fires, activists and scientists.

20. Being the Ricardos
Lucille Ball (Nicole Kidman) and Desi Arnaz (Javier Bardem) are threatened by shocking personal accusations, a political smear and cultural taboos in behind-the-scenes drama Being the Ricardos. A revealing glimpse of the couple’s complex romantic and professional relationship, the film takes place during one critical production week of their groundbreaking sitcom I Love Lucy.
With excellent production values and dedicated performances, Being the Ricardos gives the audience a behind-the-scenes peek at an iconic couple. You know you won't be able to resist.
21. I Want You Back
Peter and Emma thought they were on the precipice of life’s biggest moments – marriage, kids and houses in the suburbs – until their respective partners dumped them. Horrified to learn that the loves of their lives have already moved on, Peter and Emma hatch a hilarious plan to win back their exes with unexpected results.
Romantic comedy I Want You Back is a good time, mainly thanks to the appealing cast. You'll fall head over heels for these characters in no time.
22. All The Old Knives

His investigation reunites him with his one-time colleague and ex-lover Celia Harrison (Thandiwe Newton). The pair are forced to blur the lines between profession and passion in this riveting tale of global espionage, moral ambiguity and deadly betrayal.
A slow spy thriller with a heart-breaking romance at its core, All the Old Knives excels thanks to the palpable chemistry between the leads. Pine and Newton are wonderful together.
23. My Fake Boyfriend
In the film, a young man in a tricky situation (Keiynan Lonsdale) follows the advice of his unconventional best friend (Dylan Sprouse) and uses social media to create a fake boyfriend to keep his awful ex-lover out of his life. But everything backfires when he meets the real love of his life, and breaking up with his fake boyfriend proves hard to do.
A romantic comedy with an appealing cast, My Fake Boyfriend may not reinvent the genre, but it's a fun watch nonetheless. Stream it when you crave something light and breezy.
24. Don't Make Me Go
When single father Max discovers he has a terminal disease, he decides to try and cram all the years he will miss with his teenage daughter Wally into the time he has left. With the promise of driving lessons, he convinces Wally to accompany him on a road trip for a college reunion, where he secretly hopes to reunite her with her mother who left them long ago.
Despite the contrived premise, Don't Make Me Go works thanks to the chemistry between the leads, John Cho and Mia Isaac. The movie packs a polarising twist but it's an emotional journey worth taking.
25. Red, White & Royal Blue
After an altercation between Alex, the president's son, and Britain's Prince Henry at a royal event becomes tabloid fodder, their long-running feud now threatens to drive a wedge in US/British relations. When the rivals are forced into a staged truce, their icy relationship begins to thaw and the friction between them sparks something deeper than they ever expected.
If you're up for a cheerful and sweet rom-com, then Red, White & Royal Blue is definitely one to check out.
26. Spider-Man: Homecoming
He's not cool enough yet for the Avengers, but he's about to save the city from an evil engineer with a nefarious plan.
Spider-Man: Homecoming was the first full-length movie appearance of Tom Holland as Spider-Man. His charm and naivety as the famous webslinger has made the role his own and endeared him to many.
27. Thirteen Lives
A rescue mission is assembled in Thailand where a group of young boys and their football coach are trapped in a system of underground caves that are flooding.
Thirteen Lives is suspenseful even if you already know the outcome of the story, managing to grip you throughout. It's also quite inspiring.
28. The Burial
Inspired by true events, when a handshake deal goes sour, funeral home owner Jeremiah O’Keefe (Tommy Lee Jones) enlists charismatic attorney Willie E. Gary (Jamie Foxx) to save his family business. Tempers flare and laughter ensues as the unlikely pair bond while exposing corporate corruption and racial injustice in this inspirational, triumphant story.
While there might be nostalgia vibes for its throwback 90s legal drama feel, The Burial is crowd-pleasing and funny. Plus, the epic performances of Jamie Foxx and Tommy Lee Jones are a sight to behold.
29. Goodnight Mommy (2022)
A remake of the 2014 Austrian film of the same name, Goodnight Mommy revolves around twin boys who arrive home one day to find their mother's face covered in bandages. As her behaviour changes, they start to wonder whether she was replaced with an impostor.
Goodnight Mommy is a dark psychological thriller rich in atmosphere, one that might give you the creeps. If you're looking for an unsettling watch, you're in the right place.
