Anker EverFrost 50 F

If you're looking for the best portable fridge with battery power in Australia, the Anker EverFrost 33L, 43L and 53L has just arrived.

There's no shortage of camping fridges available in Australia, but until recently, they didn't come with a built-in battery. That's started to change.

Following on from the Companion Lithium 75L dual-zone, we saw MyCoolman release a battery pack accessory and, more recently. EcoFlow emerge with its Glacier portable fridge line. As of today, Australians have another option to consider. The Anker EverFrost.

Anker EverFrost capacity

There are 3 variants of the Anker EverFrost portable fridge now available in Australia. There's 33L and 43L single-zone fridges. Then there is a dual-zone 53L that can have one side cool and the other frozen simultaneously, depending on your needs.

5 best features

Let's take a closer look at the best features of the Anker EverFrost. This is what the company believes will help it stand out from the crowd.

  1. Battery: Naturally, the included 299Wh battery is the big feature here. It gives the Anker EverFrost great flexibility, as it will keep powering your portable fridge long after you've unplugged it from the wall. Anker claims the 33L can last up to 42-hours while keeping your drinks cool, but there's a lot of factors that play into that. We'll confirm its runtime once we've had a chance to complete a review.
  2. Charging: You can recharge your battery via four methods. AC wall charger, DC car charger, solar (max 100W input) and even USB-C. Plugged into a wall, you can bring it to 100% in around 4-hours.
  3. Design: There's a couple of nice touches in the Anker EverFrost design that improve your quality of life. It's got 2 x 6" wheels, and a collapsible side-table that also doubles as a handle to aid portability. We also like the premium finish and handy bottle opener. The removable battery also allows you to use it as a portable battery pack when not powering your portable fridge.
  4. Ports: On the side of the portable fridge, you'll find 1 x 60W USB-C and 2 x 12W USB-A ports to help charge your devices while on the go.
  5. Connectivity: It comes with an app, which allows you to remotely control temperature, as well as monitor battery status and voltage protection with ease.

Initial Anker EverFrost review thoughts

We'll need to spend more time with the Anker EverFrost range of portable fridges before we provide a final verdict, but on paper, it looks promising. As someone who has used portable fridges with batteries before, it really is a game changer. Especially when you can top it up with ease via solar panels or a car charger while out and about.

As you can see in the video above, I did get an early look at it, and the finish is premium. The design decisions are smart, too. The wheels do stick out a bit and may cause some annoyance when packing into a busy boot, but that minor pain is well worth the portability.

I'd like to have seen at least one USB-C 100W ports given it's 2023, but at least there's something. Alongside the removable battery, there's definitely additional use-cases for this fridge beyond keeping your beer and sangers ready to rock. And the fact it's efficient enough to drop from 25 to 0-degrees in 30-minutes ensures you should be able to keep everything chilled even over long camping trips.

It's just a shame they stopped at 53L as families will long for bigger capacities.
