Jack Ryan season 3 preview

Season 3 kicks off with Jack Ryan working as a CIA case officer in Rome.

When he gets a tip about a devious plan to restore the Soviet Empire, he sets out to confirm the intelligence.

However, things go wrong and he is implicated in a conspiracy, which sends him on the run.

Falsely accused of treason, Ryan is forced to crisscross around Europe in an effort to prevent a global catastrophe, all while being hunted by enemies old and new.

John Krasinski (The Office, A Quiet Place) reprises his role as the titular CIA analyst.

Season 3 also sees the return of Wendell Pierce (The Wire) and Michael Kelly (House of Cards) as James Greer and Mike November.

Additionally, the main cast includes Nina Hoss (Homeland) and Betty Gabriel (Get Out).

Michael Peña (Ant-Man) will guest star – and may get his own spin-off down the line, as it has been announced that Jack Ryan will come to an end with season 4.

For now, these new episodes should keep spy fans glued to the screen.

Jack Ryan season 3 review

Finder was lucky enough to attend the premiere of the first 2 episodes of Jack Ryan season 3 at Hoyts Entertainment Quarter in Sydney.

Utilities writer Dylan Crimsdale said, "After nearly 3 years away from our screens John Krasinski's Dr Jack Ryan is back delivering all the action, thrills and political twists and turns we've come to love.

"The first couple of episodes of season 3 set the tone so perfectly for the impending global catastrophe as we bounce across Europe from where Jack is stationed in Rome, Italy and then to Russia, Czech Republic and Greece.

"Accused of treason, Jack is going to have to uncover the plot to revive the USSR Sokol Project while on the run from the CIA and with an Interpol red notice out for his arrest.

"You're going to want to cancel all your plans, make a huge bowl of popcorn and dive right in."

Utilities editor Mariam Gabaji added, "The best part of Jack Ryan continues to be John Krasinski as season 3 goes into full throttle right from the get-go.

"There's suspense as you try to connect the dots. There's action, there's confusion and there's a whole lot of, 'Holy hell, what just happened?'.

"Given the first season was excellent, and the second season a good follow-up, I have high hopes for how season 3 unfolds.

"Here's to it following the same level of taut, pace and production quality we've grown to love from Jack Ryan."
