How to watch the World Darts Championship live online in Australia

The best darts players in the world battle it out for the Sid Waddell Trophy.

The annual World Darts Championship returns for its end-of-year event. The 2022/23 edition of the competition takes place between 16 December 2022 and 4 January 2023 AEDT at Alexandra Palace in London.

Peter Wright is the reigning champion, beating Michael Smith in the last World Darts Championship. Both are back for the 2022/23 tournament, alongside other big names such as world number 1 Gerwyn Price and 5-time world champion Raymond van Barneveld.

Three-time champion Michael van Gerwen is also hoping to continue his stellar year that has already seen him win other big tournaments such as the Premier League, World Matchplay and World Grand Prix.

There are some Aussies among the 96 players participating as well, with Raymond Smith, Mal Cuming and Simon Whitlock all taking part in the first round. Meanwhile, Damon Heta is seeded 20th, so he starts directly in the second round.

How to watch the World Darts Championship

In Australia, the 2022/23 World Darts Championship is broadcast by Fox Sports. You can watch on TV via Foxtel iQ or stream the action via Kayo Sports or Foxtel Now.

There are 2 sessions most days of the Championship, with AEDT broadcast times seeing one early in the morning and the other late at night.

The first lot of sessions go from 16 December to 24 December AEDT. There's a break for Christmas and things resume 11:30pm Tuesday 27 December with the third round. This leads through to the end of the fourth round from 6am AEDT Saturday 31 December.

Then after a day off for New Year's, it's into the finals action at 11:30pm Sunday 1 January 2023, culminating with the final on Wednesday 4 January.

The World Darts Championship will be broadcast live on Fox Sports More Plus. You can watch on TV with a Foxtel iQ subscription that includes the Sports HD channel pack. You can also stream the action to your mobile device with Foxtel GO, as the app is available for free to all Foxtel subscribers.
