Updates for Andor, The Mandalorian, Ahsoka and more announced at Star Wars Celebration

On the day new Disney Plus series Obi-Wan Kenobi is released here in Australia, more updates have been given on TV series in the Star Wars universe.

The news came as part of Star Wars Celebration. It's an event to mark all things in a galaxy far, far away.

We know where Obi-Wan Kenobi fits into the timeline, but there's even more shows on the way.

What Star Wars shows are coming to Disney Plus?

The previously announced Andor finally dropped a trailer and is coming out 31 August on Disney Plus. The series is set 5 years before Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Diego Luna reprises the role of rebel spy Cassian Andor. It shows his personal journey in the lead up to the rebellion against the Empire. It was revealed it is 12 episodes long and that a second series is in the works.

A new show, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, is debuting in 2023 and stars Jude Law. "It's the story about a group of kids about 10-years-old from a tiny little planet who accidentally get lost in the galaxy and it's the story of their journey trying to find their way home," said creator Jon Watts at the presentation. The series plays out after Return Of The Jedi, which puts it close to existing series The Mandalorian and the upcoming Ahsoka.

What about The Mandalorian?

There was also news on the flagship show on Disney Plus, The Mandalorian. Season 3 premieres in February 2023.

Another show coming in 2023 is Ahsoka, a spin-off from The Mandalorian. It stars Rosario Dawson as Anakin Skywalker's former Padawan Ahsoka Tano. The live-action character has already featured in The Mandalorian and The Book Of Boba Fett.
