Paramount Plus price changes in Australia: When, why and how much?
There will soon be new ways to stream with Paramount Plus, but it will cost more.
Paramount Plus has announced a shake up in how you stream the service in Australia by announcing 2 new tiers.
This is part of an international roll out of changes to the streaming service and comes shortly after it raised its price in August 2023.
What are the new tiers for Paramount Plus?
Paramount Plus is introducing both Premium and Advertising tier subscriptions to Australia.
The Advertising tier won't be launched until beginning of 2024 and details thus far have been light.
The Premium subscription will be available to sign up to from 16 November 2023 and will cost $13.99 a month in Australia.
Alternatively you can pay an annual fee for the Premium plan of $124.99 for $43 in savings.
By choosing the Premium tier, you'll be able to get:
- Improved quality formats including 4K UHD, HDR10 and Dolby Vision
- 4 concurrent streams
- Exclusive content
It will be available on the Paramount Plus app on Apple iOS, Apple tvOS, Amazon Fire, Google, Roku and Samsung at launch.
It's also available if you use web browsers, Android mobile devices and Android TV.
Then it will come to LG, VIDAA/Hisense, Xbox and Prime Video Channels in 2024.
A Paramount Plus spokesperson confirmed that users with a Premium account will be able to log into the service on any device and will be able to use their Premium account, even if their device doesn't have Premium quality capability.
The 4 concurrent streams will be honoured across those devices without premium quality capability.

If you currently subscribe to Paramount Plus for $9.99 a month, there are no changes to your subscription.
What can I watch on Paramount Plus?
Paramount Plus contains a mix of movies and TV shows from the likes of Showtime, Nickelodeon, MTV, Comedy Central and more.
It also features plenty of shows from Taylor Sheridan including Tulsa King, a whole universe of Star Trek programs including Strange New Worlds and the irreverent comedy South Park.
