Westworld season 4: Preview, schedule and stream options in Australia

This Westworld season brings fans a time jump, a new amusement park and new characters.

One of the most confusing and enthralling series to come out in recent years, Westworld is back with new episodes.

It has been more than 2 years since we last saw Westworld, HBO's sci-fi show about androids, humanity and a generally bleak dystopian world. Premiering this week, season 4 is simply described as "a dark odyssey about the fate of sentient life on Earth".

In other words, we have no idea about the actual plot of these new episodes, since details are kept strictly under wraps. However, we are 98% sure that Westworld will continue to mess with viewers' minds moving forward.

What's real? What isn't? Your guess is as good as ours.

Westworld season 4 preview

Westworld was initially set in a Wild-West-themed amusement park populated by androids, where the rich would come to fulfil their fantasies. In season 3 however, the show expanded its scope by allowing the androids to roam the world.

If you need a refresher, the video below does a solid job of summing up what happened so far. The most important bits to remember ahead of season 4: the Dolores we've been following since season 1 is dead, all-knowing artificial intelligence Rehoboam was eradicated, a dark future (probably) awaits humanity.

Season 4 details are sparse so far, but we know that the action will pick up after a 7-year time jump. But with Dolores dead, Evan Rachel Wood (True Blood) will appear as Christina, a regular woman trying to make it as a writer, according to one of the show's creators.

Additionally, the trailer teases a new amusement park, which looks to be reminiscent of the gangster era. Furthermore, James Marsden (The Stand), who played Teddy in the first 2 seasons, will be back for season 4.

In addition to Wood and Marsden, the Westworld cast features Thandiwe Newton (Solo: A Star Wars Story), Ed Harris, Jeffrey Wright (Marvel's What If...?), Tessa Thompson (Thor: Ragnarock), Luke Hemsworth, Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad) and Angela Sarafyan. Moreover, they will be joined in season 4 by Oscar winner Ariana DeBose (West Side Story), as well as Aurora Perrineau and Daniel Wu.

It's likely that the new season of Westworld will raise even more enticing questions in order to keep the audience glued to the screen. Are you ready for this mind-bending series to bewilder you once again?
