Grey's Anatomy is a medical-based drama that has been on the air since 2005. The show has had continued success despite its alternating cast.

The main character, Meredith Grey, starts her internship at Seattle Grace Hospital. She follows in the footsteps of her mother who was one of the best surgeons in the US and worked at the same hospital.

The show covers her career along with her roommates' who are also interns at the hospital, as well as the relationships they form. The serious amount of work and training involved in becoming a surgeon proves to be a daunting task, with each character having some form of issues along the way.

Grey's Anatomy is well-known for its capacity to reinvent itself. The same applies to season 19, which welcomes a new group of doctors to the talented ensemble cast. After a mid-season break, new Season 19 episodes release weekly on Disney Plus from 8 March 2023.

Ellen Pompeo, who has been playing Meredith Grey since the show's inception, will take a backseat this time around. Fans will be seeing less of her in season 19, with the actress branching out to embrace other professional opportunities.

Bummer for long-time fans, but 5 young doctors join the cast to infuse fresh blood into the proceedings. They are played by Alexis Floyd, Niko Terho, Midori Francis, Adelaide Kane and Harry Shum Jr. Kate Walsh will also recur this season as fan favourite Addison Montgomery.

For a quick refresh, season 18 ended with the show's eventful 400th instalment. Meredith and Nick are at a crossroads, Bailey took a step back from work and Owen and Teddy are doctors on the run.
