Synopsis

Hidden Figures is the incredible true story of Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan and Mary Jackson – brilliant African-American women working at NASA, who served as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in history: the launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit. This stunning achievement galvanised the world and inspired generations to dream big.

Loosely based on the 2016 non-fiction book of the same name, Hidden Figures tells the true story of 3 Black mathematicians who worked at NASA during the Space Race. They were the brains behind the launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit, one of the greatest NASA operations in history. Yet, little was known about them – until now.

With tremendous performances and a sharp script, the movie is more about the strength these women displayed on a daily basis than the Space Race itself. It also does an excellent job at paying tribute to 3 pioneering Black women who played a central role at the agency in the early 60s. Inspirational and moving, this is a movie the entire family can enjoy.
