Why we love this product
You may have seen this skincare brand on your Instagram feed, promising to deliver an unforgettable glow. I have to admit, I was definitely intrigued. So, when I got the opportunity to review the Kombucha + 11% AHA Exfoliation Power Toner, I couldn't say no!
Youth to the People is unlike any other skincare brand, believing that what you put on your skin should be as clean as what you put in your body. There's a focus on combining superfoods and science – and creating formulas with 100% vegan ingredients, cold-pressed extracts and gentle preservatives.
The quick verdict
Why is it good? My skin looks cleaner, brighter and smoother after just one use.
How much is it? $59 for 118mL
Where to buy it: Sephora
The Kombucha + AHA Toner is a triple action exfoliating toner, powered by 8% lactic acid and 3% glycolic acid. This thoughtful combination of active ingredients promises to smooth texture, minimise the appearance of pores and keep the skin looking tight and firm.
That's not all – it's also formulated with tree bark and kombucha black tea. These ferments work as prebiotics to enhance the skin's natural microbiome. What does this mean? It relieves congestion and boosts radiance.
The Kombucha + 11% AHA Exfoliation Power Toner is unlike anything I've ever tried.

On the left, you're looking at freshly cleansed skin with no product on top. On the right, I had just applied the Kombucha + AHA toner, allowing it to dry.

This toner works wonders in banishing away any dullness and tightening my pores.
As you can see, my pores have reduced in size and overall, my skin just looks brighter and more awake. I am obsessed with the glow it gives me, and it actually lasts throughout the day.
I use the Kombucha + AHA Toner every second morning in my skincare routine. Once it's dry, I follow up with my regular moisturiser and eye cream combo, apply my sunscreen and head out the door.
After using it, you will notice that it leaves behind a slightly sticky feeling. Youth to the People advised that this is totally normal and it's due to the special combination of ingredients.
The brand recommends to use it 3-5 times per week, gradually working up to nightly use. My skin is quite resilient to AHAs so I just went straight into every second day. However, if you're a beginner to AHAs, I strongly recommend following the brand's advice.
Is there anything I don't like? Well, I've read some reviews online where people have absolutely hated the smell. I'll be honest, it does have a scent but it doesn't bother me at all, so I guess it just comes down to preference.
Affordability
The Kombucha + 11% AHA Exfoliation Power Toner retails for $59 for 118mL. While this does sound expensive, I found that it lasts me a long time. You only need a small amount and I tend to use it every second day, rather than every day. The bottle is short but wide, so you actually get quite a bit of product.
