iPhone 7 is now on sale
Apple's latest premium phone is now available to buy, but you'll need some serious luck actually finding one at launch.
After the shortest launch window in iPhone history, given that it was only announced last Thursday with pre-orders starting on Friday, Apple's iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus is now available to purchase in Australia. The realities of the international dateline mean that Australia is the first country in the world where the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus officially go on sale, albeit only by a few hours.
However, if you were pondering quickly picking up Apple's latest premium device, you may be in for a bit of a wait. We flagged this earlier this week, when your best bet for actually getting an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus on launch day would have been to opt for a Gold or Rose Gold model. Anyone after the shiny new Jet Black iPhone 7 was in for a serious wait then.

Your other option would be to contract for an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus, although as we've noted, you need to do your sums carefully to work out if this is the most financially prudent step; it's nowhere near as simple as saying that a two year contract is either good or bad value in every case.
However here again most telcos are reporting limited stock when signing up for either the iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus. Here's how the telco plan pricing compares:
