At AncestryDNA, you'll be subject to a shipping fee of $29.99 for your first test. You'll also be charged $10 per additional kit required. Orders should arrive within 14 working days from the purchase date.
All subscription services are online and can be accessed as soon as the sign-up process has been completed. No delivery or shipping is necessary, so no additional costs are incurred.
Most of Ancestry is an entirely online service, so there is no need for anything to be shipped or delivered. The only product that requires shipping is the DNA test. After your order, a home kit is sent to your address and you simply fill out your details and provide a saliva sample. This will then be shipped, using prepaid postage, to a laboratory. When your results are ready you can view them online.
Ancestry subscriptions are easy to cancel at any time. To do this, simply click on your name or username in the top-right corner of any page on the Ancestry website. Head to the "Membership" header and click "Cancel membership".
This will prevent your membership from renewing and no further subscription fees will be taken.
If you wish to cancel your order of an AncestryDNA testing kit, you'll have 60 days to do so, return your unwanted kit and receive a refund. The kit must be in its original, unopened condition to qualify for a refund. You will also be responsible for any return shipping costs incurred.
Note: A processing fee of $15 will be deducted prior to your refund being issued and your original shipping fees are non-refundable.
All AncestryDNA testing kit results will include details about the findings of your genetic ethnicity comparisons. When you select the package including "Traits" analysis, any personal traits found in your DNA will also be compared to the existing AncestryDNA database. The results of this comparison will be included along with your genetic ethnicity comparison findings.
When purchasing an AncestryDNA kit as a gift for another person, all you need to do is enter their address instead of yours under the "Shipping Address" header. Be sure to enter your billing address though. If not, the transaction will fail when you come to enter your card details.
Note: When buying an AncestryDNA kit as a gift for someone else, your name will not appear anywhere on the package. If you'd like your recipient to know that it's a gift from you, you'll have to let them know.
