Is there a way you can still watch Netflix for free?

If you're thinking about taking Netflix for a test-drive, you will require some luck.

Netflix cancelled free trials in Australia back in March 2020 and has yet to bring them back. For a while Netflix allowed anyone to watch a small catalogue of content completely free for non-subscribers. However, as of 2023 that's also no longer an option.

In May 2023 Netflix also implemented a password sharing crackdown which has stopped the freeloading everyone enjoyed. This leaves you with no option to get yourself a free look at Netflix directly.

However, Netflix does still sometimes have partnerships with different companies that may result in some sort of "free value". One of those is currently with an AGL electricity plan, which gives you free Netflix with ads. You can upgrade your Netflix to Standard or Premium with AGL, but the offer still only applies a discount of $7 per month which equates to $84 per year.

There's also always the option take advantage of frequent flyer points hacks with gift cards.

The cheapest Netflix plan starts at per $7.99 month but that has ads. Unless you already have the Basic plan, which is unavailable to new or rejoining subscribers, your cheapest way to watch Netflix without ads costs $18.99 a month.
