30 DAYS FREE: Sign up to Amazon Prime Video's free trial today
When you sign up for Prime Video, you're not just getting access to a streaming service – you get access to a whole world of benefits. All of these you can sample with a generous 30-day Prime Video free trial.
If you sign up to stream TV shows and movies with Prime Video, you get bonus features such as free delivery on Amazon purchases. If you sign up for the delivery perks, you have free access to a giant collection of entertainment. It's a win-win.
How to get the Amazon Prime Video free trial
New customers are eligible for a 30-day free trial of Amazon Prime, which includes free access to Prime Video. There is no lock-in contract and you can cancel whenever you like before the end of the free period.
To get the free trial, click on the button above or head to the Prime Video website. Click on the big "Start your 30-day free trial" button. Then, sign in with your Amazon account.
Don't have one yet? Click on Create your Amazon account and follow the prompts from there. Once your Amazon account is up and running, continue to follow the on-screen prompts to get Amazon Prime.
To get access to the free period, you will have to enter your payment details, such as credit or debit card number and billing name and address. Once the free trial period has ended, your account is automatically debited, so keep an eye on the end date if you're considering cancelling before being charged.
If you decide to stick around, Prime Video costs $9.99 a month to continue the service. Or you can get a discount on the monthly price if you decide to sign up for a year for $79.
Compared to other major streaming services, Netflix for example charges $10.99 a month for its lowest-tier plan with HD streaming and 1 concurrent user. It's $16.99 a month for its mid-tier plan with HD streaming and 2 concurrent users. Prime Video's only plan allows you to stream on 3 separate devices at once in SD, HD or 4K/UHD depending on the title and the device you're streaming on. Plus, Prime Video has even more TV shows and movies combined than Netflix Australia.
What else does a Prime Video free trial subscription give me access to?
Becoming a Prime Video member makes you an Amazon Prime member as well.
For the Prime Video sign-up price, you'll get a whole bunch of extra benefits beyond just movies and TV shows to stream.
Delivery is a whole lot quicker when you're signed up as a Prime member. There is free 1-day or same-day delivery for selected postcodes, plus free expedited delivery in as fast as 2 days on Prime-eligible items sold or shipped by Amazon AU. You also receive free international expedited delivery on Prime-eligible international orders sold through the Amazon Global Store when you shop from Amazon AU.
On the shopping front, you'll receive Prime-exclusive deals, early access to certain Prime deals and the ability to order Prime-eligible local items by voice from your Alexa device.
You also get access to more entertainment beyond streaming with Prime Video. Prime Gaming allows members to enjoy a selection of free games every month, access to free in-game loot for some of the world's biggest games and more. With Prime Reading, members have free access to a selection of more than 1,000 ebooks and more at any given time.
