When is Black Friday 2024?

Black Friday 2024 will take place on 29 November. Keep an eye out for sales to continue on until 2 December, which is Cyber Monday. Deals should be made available in the week or so leading up to Black Friday.

What to consider when shopping for a keyboard deal on Black Friday

Switch type

There are two main types of keyboards: mechanical and membrane. Those names refer to the types of switches that trigger when you press a key, with mechanical switches using physical components to register keypresses and membrane switches using electrical signals to do the same. In practical terms, this results in mechanical keyboards providing firmer resistance when you hit the keys while membrane keyboards are softer and quieter.

Wired or wireless?

Wireless keyboards are always going to be more convenient than wired keyboards thanks to their range and portability, but there are plenty of reasons to choose a wired keyboard instead. For one, you don't have to worry about the battery dying out in the middle of a heated online gaming session, nor do you have to contend with interference from other wireless devices. Plus you minimise any latency between pressing a key and the command registering on your computer, which is another critical factor for gamers of both the online and offline variety.
