Events happening in Brisbane over the Easter long weekend
- Redcliffe Festivals of Sails: The annual Good Friday festival is back for another year of celebration. Enjoy a full day of Easter entertainment including an egg hunt for the little ones, live music and a plethora of market stalls. 7 April. Free entry.
- Sandgate Bluewater Festival: Spend a day by the beach this long weekend at the Sandgate Bluewater Festival. The event is set to feature market stalls, rides, plenty of food options, fireworks and entertainment for the whole family. 18 April. Free entry.
- Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race: Catch the annual Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race from the foreshore. 18 April.
- Sandstone Point Easter Sunday Eggstravaganza: The annual Easter egg hunt returns with over 6,000 eggs to find. As well as the hunt, you'll find live music, kids rides and entertainment. The Easter Bunny will also be there. 20 April. Free entry.
- Easter Long Weekend in Victoria Park: During Easter, Victoria Park is the place to be. Sip chocolate cocktails at the Bistro, listen to live music and meet the Easter Bunny. 18-21 April. Bookings essential.
Free things to do in Brisbane over the Easter long weekend
- Take a tour of the Queensland Museum. Entry to the museum is free, some exhibits may require a ticket.
- Have a picnic. There are great picnic spots in Brisbane including the City Botanic Gardens, Sherwood Arboretum and Newstead Park.
- Spend the day at the beach. Head to Streets Beach in South Bank if you'd prefer to stay close to the city centre.
- Ride along the Riverwalk. Winding around the Brisbane River the riverwalk is the perfect place to get some exercise and see the city.
- Explore Old Petrie Town. Step back in time and take a look at how Australia looked in the past.
