Top eBay Boxing Day sales

eBay has played a prominent role in Australia's online retail space since it launched Down Under way back in 1999.

No longer simply a marketplace for everyday people to sell their unwanted items, eBay now serves as a storefront for major brands like Sony, Dan Murphy's, Target, Quiksilver and many, many more.

With such a diverse range of products on its digital shelves, eBay is one of Australia's most popular online destinations during the Boxing Day sales, making it worth checking out what's on offer this year.

What products does eBay sell?

It might be easier to list the products that eBay doesn't sell. Jokes aside, the online marketplace carries an enormous range of products spanning categories like fashion, food, appliances, home entertainment, music, movies, video games, computers, arts and craft, toys, furniture, books, health and beauty, gardening, pets and a whole lot more.

These products have big-name brands attached to them, too. From Apple and Armani to Witchery and West Elm, there's a good chance you'll find the specific item you're after, even if you have to order it from an international seller.

What is eBay's returns policy?

eBay provides a minimum level of protection when purchasing products from its sellers. If you don't receive your order in the first place, the seller will have to send a replacement or give you a full refund. If your item arrives damaged, faulty or just doesn't match the description of what you ordered, you can request a replacement or refund.

For change-of-mind returns, the policy differs from seller to seller. Many sellers will accept returns based on you changing your mind within a short period after your purchase, but some don't. Be sure to check the item listing before making your purchase to ensure you know what options are available to you.

In the event a seller doesn't comply with your request for a refund or replacement, you can ask eBay to step in on your behalf. eBay will then review the situation and attempt to resolve it fairly for both parties.

How much does delivery cost on eBay?

Since packing and shipping your order is handled by the specific seller you purchase from, delivery costs can vary dramatically from product to product. While the bigger eBay stores tend to have a standard delivery process using Australia Post or their preferred courier service, smaller sellers and those from overseas may charge more than you expect. Be sure to check the delivery costs on an item's listing before placing your order.

An increasing number of eBay sellers are also supporting other methods of delivery. Click & Collect allows you to pick up your order from your local Woolworths supermarket, ParcelPoint location or a variety of other participating retailers. Some orders may also offer local pick-up, giving you the option to collect your order from a seller's physical store or another predetermined location.

Recently, eBay has also rolled out a premium subscription service called eBay Plus that gets members free delivery on select eBay Plus items.
