The ultimate international shoe size conversion guide [date format="Y"]
There are 2 handy hacks to easily find your shoe size when shopping online:
- AU women's shoe sizes are the same as US women's sizes
- AU men's shoe sizes are the same as UK men's sizes
For everything else, hit the charts below.
Women's size guide
Australian shoe sizes are equal to American shoe sizes, so if you're purchasing footwear from a US-based retailer, you should find the fit is the same.
If you're buying from a UK-based store, go down 2 sizes. If you're a 7 in Australia, you're a 5 in the UK.

Men's size guide
Australian men's shoe sizes are equal to shoe sizes in the UK.
If you're shopping from an American store, you'll need to go up one size to get the right fit. So, if you're a 9 in Australia, you'll be a 10 in the US.

Baby shoe size guide (pre-walking)
Baby shoe sizes are the same in Australia as they are in the UK. They are one size smaller than American shoes.
If you're buying from a store that uses Japanese sizes, the shoe size is roughly the same (but slightly higher) than the length of the foot. For example, if your baby's foot is between 99 and 104, a size 10 should fit.

Toddler size guide
Like baby and men's shoes, toddler shoe sizes are the same if they are Australian or British.
American shoe sizes are one size higher than they are in Australian. So if you need an Australian size 8, you'll need a 9 from an American store.
Japanese sizes are roughly the same as the length of the foot in centimetres.

Young kids size guide
Similar to toddler, baby and men's shoes, shoes made for young kids are sized the same if they are Australian or British.
If you're purchasing footwear from an American store, you'll need to buy one size larger than you would from an Australian store.
Japanese sizes are roughly the same in size as the length of the foot in centimetres.

Older kids size guide
For older children, Australian sizes are equal to UK sizes, so if you're buying shoes from a UK-based store, you can purchase them in the same size and they should fit.
If you're looking at a US-based store, buy the shoes one size larger than you normally would in Australia.
