What is The Good Guys and what does the store sell?

The Good Guys has long been an Australian icon (who can forget the jingle?) and is well known for its discount prices on electronics and big ticket items. With over 98 stores across the country it is a leader in the consumer electronics market.

The Good Guys stocks a range of TV and audio products, computers, tablets, phones, GPS, security products, fridges, washing machines, kitchen appliances, kitchenware, vacuum cleaners, heating and cooling appliances and digital cameras. It also provides a 30-day price-match guarantee against a list of approved competitors in 30 kilometre distance from your selected store.

What products are likely to be in The Good Guys Boxing Day sale?

Technology iterates at breakneck speed, with many product lines receiving a refresh each and every year. This often prompts retailers to cut prices on older models in order to clear store space for their newer, more expensive successors. Boxing Day is a popular time of year for retailers to do just this. Previous generation iPhones, tablets, TVs and laptops are all likely to show up on sale, as are older-model fridges, microwaves, vacuum cleaners and other small appliances.

Newer products may also see price cuts, though they'll almost certainly be far smaller and less compelling.

Is it worth waiting until Boxing Day to buy electronics from The Good Guys?

This is a tough question. Australian retail engages in sales all year round and Boxing Day is no longer the only time to snap up a bargain on the latest iPad or surround sound system. Still, local retailers know that Aussies are stocked up with cash and gift cards during the post-Christmas period and the deals tend to be at their height during the Boxing Day sales.

To get the biggest bang for your buck, you'll want to plan ahead. Write a prioritised list of the items you would like to buy and set yourself a budget for each one. Do your research before the day comes so you know where to find the best prices. Any money left over can be spent on non-essentials.

If you can’t stand the crowds or just want to rest on Boxing Day, don’t worry. The Good Guys offers discounted electronics and home appliances every day in the Clearance and Bargain Buys sections, online and in-store.

What are The Good Guys’ Christmas opening hours?

The Good Guys is open during the whole Christmas period (except for Christmas Day). Stores Australia-wide will open 9am to 5.30pm on Christmas Eve and Boxing Day.

Alternatively, skip the lines and shop online 24 hours a day. You can get the same great deals online and stay in your PJs the whole time.

What other electronics stores have Boxing Day sales?

The trick to getting a good deal on Boxing Day is shopping around and doing your research to find the best prices. If you’re looking for tech and home appliances, you'll want to compare prices from Sony, eGlobal, and David Jones.

What is the warranty like on The Good Guys’ products? Will there be extended or varying warranty for items bought on Boxing Day?

Boxing Day purchases fall under The Good Guys' new warranty structure which automatically comes with a 30-day guarantee. Alternatively, you can choose to purchase the "Concierge Gold" membership service as an extra which entitles you to free repair, replacement and maintenance for the term of your membership should anything happen to your purchase.
